A few days ago while thinking about of my recent accomplishments, I came to realize something that has eluded me.
It occurred to me that a lot of the things that seem to come easy to me now were aspirations in the past. At a stage in my life, they looked so herculean and complicated. These are things I silently prayed for in my quiet times and hoped would happen.
What’s changed? Why do they come now with relative ease when they were so difficult to achieve at some point? That was when I got it.
We arrive at different stages of our lives as complete novices. While some might figure it out early on and make a quick killing, others need more time to make sense of that stage.
However, no matter how fast or slow it takes us to figure different stages of life, everything that occurs in one stage teaches and prepares us for the next. Whatever knowledge you might have acquired when you thought “I don’t get it” or “things are not working out for me” is not lost. That knowledge stays with you and helps you navigate better in the future.
The things that come easy to you now were not really difficult all along. You were either not equipped enough or the time was not right.
Have this ‘truth’ at the back of your mind as you journey through life.
