The mind is never completely blank
Imagine waking up in the morning to get your mind on paper, but your mind is blank.
You try to draw on words to make thoughts come to life, and that doesn’t seem to work. You try again to recollect recent events and experiences. At least that should work, right? Well, that too doesn’t work. What to do now?
Tell yourself it’s not a problem. Write about my blank mind if you must. Attempt to describe this thing you feel and find consolation in the fact that that is a topic on its own that is worth writing about. Before you know it, you have written two paragraphs and on to the third.
It’s really interesting what we can accomplish if we try. If this works, it means the dreaded writer’s block can be conquered. It can be hacked.
It means there is inspiration all around us. Once we understand that an idea doesn’t have to be complex to make sense. It’s the simplest idea that moves the world.
The real problem is, that sometimes we don’t think our ideas make any sense. We think the idea has to be very grand and complex for people to appreciate.
That’s not true.
Develop all those small ideas and you will see how genius you are.
