Teardrops in the rain

If you must cry, do it in the rain where it will flow unnoticed. You can cry a river without bothering to wipe your tears because there is enough wetness to conceal the pain. no one will know the difference between teardrops and raindrops.

The weather at Anfield on Sunday night was perfect for shedding hot and premium tears. Jürgen Klopp’s team came to a gunfight with bazookas. For the first time in a while, the Ten Hag’s team were annihilated away from home and there was nobody to save the day. Not even Da Gea could save, because he had to pick the ball from the back of his net seven times in 90 minutes. If at least one of the United players didn’t shed a tear yesterday, they deserve to be applauded. It was an emotional and embarrassing loss.

Where did United get it wrong? According to a pundit, it was a tactical error from the manager. By starting with Marcus Rashford as a lone striker, Bruno Fernandes wide on the left and Wout Weghorst as a №10, Ten Hag let Liverpool off the hook, particularly by allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold’s defensive weaknesses to go untested.

Nothing prepared the Red Devils for that kind of embarrassing loss, especially considering the team’s recent winning streak. The history books were ripped up with that 7–0 humbling inflicted on them. The team fell like a pack of cards in front of a Liverpool side that has been average all season.

Up until that game, Liverpool had never defeated United by that kind of margin before. Now, the Red Devils will need to find a way to “return the favour” otherwise, the banter will go on for years.

But life has to go on, doesn’t it? The boys will lick their wounds, heal up, bounce back and try their best to maintain top form till the end of the season. In all fairness, we’ve got to give it to the team. Playing in four campaigns is no mean feat.
