No real change happens in a flash

My brisk and confident strides have always always been a source of admiration. Whenever I walk into a place for the first time, in front of a crowd, or just walk down the road, I take deliberate steps.

When people ask why I walk the way I do, I just smile. It’s something I picked up back in my university days.

During my second and third levels, I was part of a modelling agency run by a good friend. That’s where I mastered the art of confidence.

In that short period, I learned how to walk a runway, took dance classes, and entered the gym for the first time. As a model, you should have a good build and firm thighs. I still remember participating in a few fashion shows. A picture of me modelling for a fashion brand made it to a school magazine.

It was a good run while it lasted. Even though I lost interest at some point and moved on, I can never forget the memories and lessons I acquired during my stint.

Looking back at our lives, a pattern quickly emerges. Everything we do today is a summation of habits we’ve cultivated or actions we’ve taken over the years. Nothing is happening to you now that shouldn’t come as a surprise. Just play back your life, and you’ll see how it came about.

Lastly, no real change happens in a flash. It takes time and effort (or non-effort). What do you do today that you can trace back to your past? I’ll be happy to read them.
