I’ve always admired storytellers, the ones who can craft narratives that draw you in and make you feel something. Whenever I log into my social media accounts, especially X, I find myself searching for those stories that resonate deeply with me. I know I have that same power of expression within me, but over the years, it’s weakened. I used to love creative writing; it was my outlet, my way of making sense of the world.
But at some point, I got discouraged. I realized that creative writing alone might not be enough to sustain me financially. The practicality of life took over, and I stopped publishing on my blog, shifting my focus entirely to marketing. I thought that was the end of my storytelling journey.
Interestingly, the one skill that has consistently set me apart throughout my marketing career is my writing ability. Whether it’s crafting a compelling campaign or communicating a brand’s story, my writing has always been the thing that stands out. It’s funny how the very thing I thought I had to leave behind is what has really driven my success.
So maybe, just maybe, my love for storytelling and writing still counts for something. Perhaps it’s time to reconnect with that creative side, to find a way to blend my passion for writing with the practicalities of life. After all, the stories we tell and how we tell them are what truly make an impact.
